Top Games To Play On Cinco de Mayo

I'm not sure Cinco de Mayo is a real holiday. I've heard it compared to St. Patrick's day, where everyone magically becomes Irish. Either way, go grab your sombrero and let's take a crack at this gaming pinata and see what are the best games to play on this fake Mexican holiday.

Guacamelee!

A side-scrolling 2D platformer that requires precise mastery of button combinations to traverse between the living and the dead. It was fun until it got hard and that's when I stopped playing it. It's a good game that should be played if you want a challenging platformer based on Mexican folklore.

Smuggle Truck

Well this game is probably racist and politically incorrect. It's purpose was supposed to bring awareness to the plight of immigrants crossing the Mexican border into the US. What it did was get itself rejected from the Apple App Store. They had to change the name to Snuggle Truck and instead of trying to keep the bouncy immigrants in the truck you have to keep cute fluffy animals.

Red Dead Redemption

This open world western is one of the few Rockstar games that I like. It is so well made and has some of the most racist characters Rockstar has ever designed. They do such great work and always remind us of the world we still live in. I can only dream of what Red Dead Redemption 2 might be like on the PS4.,

Treasures of Montezuma

Want to play a game based on an Aztec emperor who is forced from his home by Spanish conquistadors? Treasures of Montezuma is the game you need.  What a better way to show some love to the native people than to make a match 3 game in their honor. They would be so proud if they weren't all killed off or assimilated.

Review: Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling (PS4)

Paper Mario but with bugs (not the technical kind). Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling makes its inspiration obvious just from looking at a screenshot. The art style pays homage to the Paper Mario series and the rest of the game follows suite. The first two Paper Mario games were traditional paper turn based rpgs, and the series has shifted away from that formula since. Bug Fables sets out to create an experience similar to those early entries in the Paper Mario series. Any fans of the classic Paper Mario games will feel at home playing Bug Fables. Besides the art style, the combat will feel familiar right away. Your party has three characters who will be with you for the entirety of the game. You take turns attacking with each character having their own unique strengths and weaknesses. Each character fares better against specific types of enemies. A unique mechanic this game offers is the ability to give your attack to another character. The penalty is that each subsequent attac

Review: Killzone: Mercenary (PS Vita/PlayStation TV)

I haven't been this frustrated with a game in a very long time. I picked up Killzone: Mercenary a while ago and over the past year I've played it on and off. The other day I finally finished it and couldn't delete it fast enough.

#SAVEMAG

Advisory: Online multiplayer services for MAG, SOCOM Confrontation, and SOCOM 4 will be ending on 01/28/14 — PlayStation (@PlayStation) July 16, 2013 This could be the saddest day in PlayStation history. Today, on the official PlayStation twitter, MAG, SOCOM Confrontation and SOCOM 4 were officially sentenced to death. Three of the greatest multi-player games the PS3 has ever seen are being thrown out with the garbage. Not only did Sony kill off Zipper Interactive, but now they are trying to kill of their legacy. We shall not let this stand. Use the hashtag #SAVEMAG and let your voice be heard. Tell PlayStation that we will not let them take MAG down. Show your loyalty by going a buying MAG and playing it. But don't just play it, play it hard. Play it harder than you have ever played it before. Make PlayStation add servers because of how hard it's being played. It's up to you to do the right thing. #SAVEMAG isn't just saving a game, it's saving a way of lif
