2012 Showies: Nominate your Overrated Game of the Year

This has been a banner year for gaming. Some of the best games that have ever been made were released in 2012. This has also been a banner year for overrated games. Nominate your most overrated game of 2012. Leave a comment or use the hashtag #2012ShowiesOverratedGame.

I will start the nomination with Battlefield 3 Premium Edition. What once was a great game was ruined by the additions of what EA and DICE liked to call "premium" content. This game was so good until DICE made it so bad.

Why Doesn't PS Vita Remote Play Work Like The Wii U?

When remote play was announced I was all like, but it never really lived up to the hype on the PSP and PlayStation 3. When it was implemented on the PS Vita and the PlayStation 4 I was like, but again I was disappointed. When I got my Wii U and saw the gamepad for the first time I was like, but Nintendo had done it right. It doesn't have the range of remote play and you cannot use it through the net. But, it just works. It's seemless with responsive controls and no pixelation. When you walk too far away from the Wii U the controller just cuts off the video completely and tells you to go back to whence you came. Recently Sony introduced remote play with the PC. Steam has had this for a while and it works pretty good as long as your have a decent PC and a nice connection. I've ran through Black Mesa this way and didn't have any problems. Review: Just Die Already (PS4)

Just Die Already is a game where you choose an old person to play as and cause mayhem around a sandbox area. The best way to describe it is, goat simulator but replace the goat with a boomer. That sentence will be the best rundown I can give for those who have played goat simulator. Otherwise read on to get an idea whether or not this game is for you.    Once you select one of four old people to play as. Your character is free to roam an open area with loose goals and objectives. There are puzzles and items you can interact with to cause crazy stuff to happen, and unlock new areas and objectives. Everything feels optional past the 5 minute point. Once you’re dumped into the world, you’re on your own. The exploration is one of the strengths of the game. It feels refreshing to have no tutorials or a large arrow pointing you to your next objective.  Another strength of the game is in its humor.
