Hidden Recover Menu in 2.50 Firmware
Sony may have learned their lesson from the Jesus Firmware that came out that allowed the in-game XMB access. As you may remember that firmware was taken down when it was released because of reports of some PS3s bricking. While in a little known feature there is now a recovery menu for the PS3 that may help with any issues that may arise.
To access the menu, you must hold down the power button to turn on the PS3 until you hear three beeps. Then the menu will show up. Hopefully no one will need to use this, but it is good that it's available.

PSPGen is reporting that developers have been given access to the 5.0 version of the PSP firmware. There are not many details as of yet on what this might mean for the PSP.

PS3 Firmware 2.43 Out Now Update
Not sure what this firmware does, but get to your PS3s because the 2.43 update is out now and ready to be downloaded. Will update if any new comes out to what this firmware might do.

PS3: PlayStation 3 Firmware 2.5 To Bring Screengrabbing?
Might is be true that the PS3 will be getting screen grab added to the next firmware 2.5. This is what CVG is reporting. This would be very useful in many ways so that you could share all your gaming goodness with the rest of the world. All I ask is that they also add an easy way to upload the pics to the net without a lot of work.

The PlayStation Show Podcast Episode 5
Another week has past and the crew is back again with all the PlayStation information you need. In this episode we experience Preacher Rizzle for the first time. We have a guest host and big time fan Daylight with us, and it looks like he will be here to stay. The XMedia minute has a little hate in it as we talk about the new issue of Qore that we released. Some Vampire Rain trailers were released and one of the crew played the 360 version so we get into some impressions and more hate.
With the release of the Jesus firmware 2.40 the gang gives initial impressions of the features as well as the trophies. Who was about to get the update before it was pulled and who wasn’t. We also talk about how important trophies are to games and why one of us has yet to get any.

2.40 Jesus Firmware pulled from servers, a resurrection is imminent!
If you didn't get the 2.40 update for your PS3 it seems that you might be having a problem getting it now. There have been reports that it has been pulled from the servers and is unavailable. Not sure why this is, but updates as soon as something breaks.

As has been reported on many gaming blogs and websites, we have temporarily taken Firmware v2.40 offline. We’ve received a limited number of calls from consumers experiencing an issue with installing the system software update on their PS3. While our consumer services department has seen a low volume of calls on this topic, we are committed to providing the PS3 community with XMB access features delivered in the v2.40 update. We are working diligently to isolate the problem for those few consumers and to identify a solution before we put the firmware back up.

Jesus Firmware 2.40 dated
The day has finally come. We now know that the Jesus firmware will be released on July, 2nd 2008. This may be the greatest day in Sony PlayStation History. Here is Sony's official press release:
